Aldor's lollipops are the 'coolest'

Mzansi youth have spoken and named Pin Pop lollipops the 'Coolest Sweet' in South Africa for the second year running in the Sunday Times Generation Next Survey. Yogueta placed third, up against competition from the likes of Smarties, Chappies and Mentos.

Aldor South Africa marketing director Prativa Pillay says that Pin Pop and Yogueta are star brands in the company's global portfolio. "Being recognised as two of the coolest brands in the Sweets category is the ultimate accolade for Aldor Africa. We are really delighted to receive this kind of endorsement from the youth. It's clear that the Pin Pop and Yogueta brands connect with today's street-smart youth."

"The recent launch of Pin Pop Black Cherry in our 'Da Flava Moves Ya' campaign is a great example of this," says Pillay. "It's a black lollipop that turns red as you eat it. The response to our TV commercial has been terrific."

The results of the Generation Next Survey of the 'coolest brands' are based on a robust, national, quantitative research study, conducted by HDI Youth Marketeers in conjunction with the Sunday Times. The survey involves hundreds of kids, teens and young adults between the ages of eight and 22.
