Experienced marketer joins Swartland

Robert Riedel, a veteran of the liquor trade, joined Swartland Winery in September 2009 as the new marketing manager. He is known for the successes of Oude Meester brandy and Amarula Cream, and their rise in the global market, during his time at the KWV and early years in Bergkelder.

Having experience and expertise in the field of sales, marketing, brand management / building, public relations, product development and project management, Riedel brings a broad base of disciplines to the challenges of marketing wine in tough economic times. He already sees the exciting challenges that his position holds but is quick to say how Swartland Winery has a strong place in the consumer heart with its value, quality and consistency image.

“Swartland Winery is such a strong brand with a proud history that I see us speaking to the consumer even more and strengthening our home base. We want to be the first cellar door experience that visitors have as they enter the Swartland Wine Route, an experience that they take to the supermarket with them when purchasing wine - an experience that they take home to their country looking for our wines on their shelves,” he comments.
