#FreshOnTheShelf: Royco launches innovative range of pasta base recipes
Royco has extended its offering in the wet cooking aids category with the launch of a new, innovative range of concentrated pasta base recipes. These are packed in family size 200g pouches (sufficient for a meal for six vs the current category standard of four) in six recipes. Two of these, Macaroni & Cheese and Lasagne Cheese, are unique to this category and complete the range together with Savoury Mince, Bolognaise, Bacon Carbonara, and Tomato & Basil.

Macaroni and cheese and lasagne are two of the most popular South African pasta meals, but are seldom made at home due to their perceived complexity.
“After the successful launch of our first-to-market recipe base range last year, Royco has shown that it has the recipe for category growth. With our new pasta base range we are confident that we will continue to attract new consumers to the category by giving them more choice, affordability, convenience, accessibility and above all, authentic taste,” says Mandy Murphy, marketing director at Mars Foods.
