Capetonians do get it!

Capetonian readers and advertisers will get it with the recent launch of two new Caxton community magazines in the area.

Get It Newlands, Claremont and Contstantia has set up a print order of 15 000, while Get It Plattekloof, Welgemoed and Durbanville will see 20 000 copies distributed to various recreation nodes including coffee shops, shopping centres and restaurants in that area. "Get It's popularity continues to soar, with more communities wanting their own local magazine," says Joint MD of the Newspaper Advertising Bureau (NAB), John Bowles.

Full colour, glossy and free, these magazines feature only local content for their specific communities. The publications target anyone with an interest in keeping abreast of local entertainment, fashion, health and beauty, home and garden ideas and anything pertinent to their everyday living lifestyles.

"It seems the demand for local lifestyle community magazines is soaring and has been taken on rapidly. Our model remains the same for these Cape Town suburbs. People want to know who the celebrities are in their areas, what they do, what their homes look like and, mostly, what they as individuals can do in their areas in their free time,” says Bowles, who says he believes no other magazines offer this unique ingredient.
