Staying C-onnected

Cell C customers can now stay connected in 138 countries after the company extended its international roaming partnerships to 287 telecommunications operators worldwide this week. Launched in November 2001, the country's third cellular network operator has aggressively signed up a number of roaming partners in the world in a short period of time.

With international roaming, Cell C customers are able to communicate on their cellphones whenever they visit foreign countries where Cell C has roaming agreements in place.

Jim Courtney, chief commercial officer of Cell C, says: "Our extensive international roaming footprint further strengthens our market position as a competitive cellular service provider delivering value to all our customers including those who travel abroad."

Cell C recently announced that it has signed up more than 500 000 post-paid customers, many of whom use international roaming. Cell C now has a total of 2.5 million customers.
