This will take place in support of Earth Hour; an initiative involving several countries around the world. 104.1 MedFM will completely close down the station for one hour, ceasing broadcast for the first time since the station started 10 months ago. ‘This is a brilliant way for us as a station to show our support for earth hour and to create awareness among our community about the green revolution' Helène van Niekerk, 104.1 MedFM Station Manager.
Earth Hour is an initiative that started in Australia in 2007 with the intention of creating awareness of global warming and environmental issues. The idea behind Earth Hour would be that countries, organisations and people around the world turn off their lights or power for one hour at the same time. 104.1 MedFM supports this initiative and cares about the environment.
