Spur puts pap on the menu
The collaborative menu showcased the versatility of maize meal and proved that its taste knows no borders. Spur's signature Buffalo Wings are now served on a bed of herb flavoured pap, Queen Prawns accompanied by a tasty spinach-infused dollop of pap, or succulent rib meat complemented by a cheesy serving of pap. Alternatively, customers can either top up their main meal or replace their chips with a sizeable serving of the pap flavour of their choice.
According to Amitola Spur's marketing manager Thabang Segaecho, "When we launched our first Spur in Gugulethu, we weren't sure if it would succeed. But it has fast become a favourite food destination, and its success has surpassed even our best hopes. While people in the area enjoy Spur's traditional offerings, we believe that the partnership between Amitola Spur and White Star will enable us to better cater to their tastes. We are excited that Amitola Spur is the launch-pad for the new menu and what we hope is just the beginning of Spur's next food revolution."
"We are always on the lookout for out-of-the-box ways to interact with our consumers and this partnership with the Amitola Spur will enable us to do just that. We hope that if the residents of Gugulethu enjoy these ayoba meals as much as we expect them to, then pap will find a place on the menus of Spur Steak Ranches countrywide," said White Star brand manager, Mokhele Makhothi.
