FIFA LOC unfazed over low airline ticket sales
NEWSWATCH: As many as 450 000 visitors have been expected for 2010, but to date apparently only 150 000 airline tickets have been sold - with fewer than 100 days to go - but the local Organising Committee isn't worried, reports Business Day. Meanwhile, the issue of an ‘adult' channel - ie pornographic channel - being broadcast on DStv has generated a storm of protest, reports IOL, though MAN, a risqué reality show, has been approved.

For more:
- Business Day: FIFA “not concerned about report of lack of visitors”… FIFA LOC chief communications officer Rich Mkhondo says there are no worries about the fact that only 150 000 airline tickets have been sold prior to the event; he says that's no indication of how many visitors the country will have.
- IOL: Thousands join campaign to crush porn channel… Trade union Solidarity claims that more than 13 000 people have joined their Helping Hand campaign aimed at stopping DStv starting a porn channel, and the Film and Publication Board says it will oppose the 24-hour pornography channel . It wants to protect children from being exposed to sexually explicit material.
- IOL: Reality show passes commission's muster… MAN, a risqué Cape Town-based reality documentary series, has been approved by the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA), which cited the broadcaster's right to freedom of expression. The BCCSA was responding to complaints from the public.
