CaesarStone design awards announced

The 2010 CaesarStone Design Awards, issued late last week, awarded first prize to Van Wyk Oosthuizen, a student from the University of The Free State's Department of Architecture and the winning lecturer, Madelein Markram.

The trophy, designed by Darren Bester of It Is Design, and made of CaesarStone by Afrigran of Durban was presented to the winner. The student and the lecturer will fly to Israel, home of CaesarStone as part of their R50 000 prize, which includes airfare, accommodation and spending money.

A merit award of R5000 was jointly awarded to Antje Pluntke and Chloe Johnson from The Design Time School of Interior Design, lectured by Katherine Mann.
