Changes to the Loerie rules
With just a few days left before entries close for The Loerie Awards 2005, the organising committee has announced a change to the rules governing the print category. In terms of the modified rules, the same advertisement may not be entered in both newspaper and magazine sections, a decision which effectively cuts the odds of a particular execution dominating the category but goes a long way to levelling the playing fields.
More news is that sponsor Kulula.com has put on extra flights from Cape Town to Durban early on the Saturday morning of the festival weekend, which means that Capetonians can be in Margate in time for lunch.

The list of year's categories are:
- Advertising
- Design
- Direct
- Interactive
- Corporate Video and Events
- Integrated Campaigns (must be elements from at least three of the categories listed above)
Critical dates for those managing their agency's entries are:
Exposure qualification: First flighting between 1 June 2004 and 31 July 2005.
Entries close: 31 July 2005.
Judging: 26 September - 2 October 2005.
The Loerie Awards 2005: October 15 and 16.
