Financial Manager

An exciting opportunity has come available with our client who is looking for a financial manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing a team and overseeing all functions for the team
• Acting as a bank signatory, including releasing EFT payments and updating creditor banking details
• Authorising journals
• Managing the Point of Sale (POS) system, including releasing purchase orders
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and conducting income statement analysis
• Reviewing monthly statistical reporting and Group charges, including Group VAT submissions
• Preparing quarterly statistical reports for Stats SA
• Handling year-end audits and budgets for support services, including preparation and consolidation of accounts, assistance with group consolidation, and preparation of annual financial statements for dormant companies
• Preparing flash reports, monthly reports, quarterly reports, and forecasts
• Assisting departmental management with queries and budgets
• Managing monthly group support services fringe benefit company car schedules for payroll, including deduction schedules
• Conducting monthly budget vs actual variance analysis
• Ensuring control procedures are in place and operating effectively
• Handling ad hoc group management accounting tasks

Minimum requirements:

• A bachelor of commerce degree in accounting
• Minimum of five years of managerial experience in a similar capacity
