Midweight Copywriter

We’re looking for a skilled and experienced midweight copywriter to join our team. If you have 5+ years of agency experience, a strong background in digital and social media writing, and a keen interest in trends and culture, we’d love to hear from you. Bonus points if you know your way around a wine list and can write about it in a way that makes people want to pour a glass.

What you’ll bring:

• 5+ years of agency experience—you’re comfortable working across multiple brands and platforms.
• Digital and social media expertise—you know how to craft compelling content that gets engagement. You have a working understanding of social media strategy – and tailoring your writing to meet different objectives.
• A good strategic/ creative balance —whether it’s an ad, a social caption, or a campaign concept, your words make an impact.
• An interest in trends and culture—you stay ahead of what’s relevant, and have the creative empathy to tailor your writing style to appeal to different audiences.
• A passion for wine and wine writing (preferred, but not essential).
• Unquenchable curiosity – pardon the wine pun there - but seriously - you’re a bright-eyed and open hearted human who is always keen to learn something new.

What you’ll do:

• Write engaging, effective copy across multiple platforms.
• Develop ideas that are both creative and strategic.
• Collaborate with a talented team of Art Directors, Designers and Creative Director to bring campaigns to life.
• Work on brands that value strong, insightful storytelling.
• Hybrid work model: You’ll work remotely on Mondays & Fridays, and spend 3 days in-office at our Claremont, Cape Town based office. This is a full-time position, and the hybrid model is non-negotiable.
