For years I have worked as a journalist for various community newspapers in the Eastern and Western Cape. After venturing out on a freelance career, I started working at Basic Bistro, a small restaurant in Stellenbosch, to help pay the bills. Here I have rediscovered my passion for people and good food. The work is sometimes disheartening and unthankful, but most nights you have more than enough good people to make up for it. My time spent in small communities have taught me patience and sustainable relationships. When I am not working, I love exploring mountainsides, beaches and wineries, or escaping reality with a good book. My experiences have taught me patience, wonderful people skills and how to handle any crisis. Most recently I have worked as an online transcriber and was managing a team of around 40 transcribers, reminding me of how much I love training and teaching as well. I believe that all of these skills is the perfect fit for this job opportunity.
