Idols vote rigging rumours dismissed

Richard Fyffe, GM of Oracle New Media, M-Net's advertising arm, has spoken out against rumours that the Idols contest was influenced by organised bulk phone-in votes, saying that during the Sunday's final performance 650 000 calls were logged in one hour and forty minutes. "You would have to have organised at least 10 000 people to vote repeatedly over this period to influence these results," he said, "Otherwise your votes would just be a drop in the ocean."
