Attempt to unseat AME management
A consortium led by well-known media lawyer David Dison, which includes musician Johnny Clegg, is attempting to unseat CEO Kevin Coyle and three fellow directors from African Media Entertainment (AME). They are alleging that the board has been slow to dispose of non-core businesses and have called for an extraordinary general meeting to be held on 23 August to vote for their removal.
The AME group include controlling stakes in Algoa and OFM, boxing promotions business Golden Gloves, Big Concerts, Foghound, Penguin Films and The Dome.
