Township Talk Seminars get thumbs up!

The Township Talk Seminars presented by Lebo Motshegoa & the AAA School which was recently reviewed on SABC Take5 exposes creatives and marketers to the A - Z of township talk, the origins of Tsotsi-taal and its influence on current popular culture and of course the aspirations of this hidden generation.

Saatchi & Saatchi responded to this workshop as follows: "Having chatted with the creative(s) and client-servicing after your presentation, all found it so very interesting and so very exciting. What piqued their attention the most was this language sub-culture that is emerging in the townships. An what blew their mind the most was the fact that it is no longer possible to do an ad in English, and convert it to a vernacular and hope to still connect with the audience. This new language is beginning to redefine how advertisers communicate with those who are the big spenders of the future. So either speak the lingo or Kuf'off...

"So sharp bra, we're slowing learning to ringa and gwara with the madoda in the locations. Keeping it foshizi."

Lebo Motshegoa is the founder of Foshizi Productions, a research Company that does qualitative research and consults on the black consumer market. Read more on www.foshizi.co.za
