R45 million mall investment in Brackenfell, Cape
Building work commenced in July and Fairbridge Mall is on schedule to officially open on December 2, 2004 with an all new Food Court, that will host among others Steers, Debonaires, Wimpy, Church's Chicken, Fontana Roastery and an all new super Vees Video.
In addition to the new Food Court, Fairbridge Mall boasts a fantastic variety of new and upgraded national stores to suit all customers needs, such as Crazy Store, Sheet Street, Mr Price, Ackermans, Clicks, Topic, Vodacom, Choice Clothing, PEP, Lewis, Paper Weight, Verimark, Fashion Express and ATM's - Absa / Standard Bank and FNB.
The major anchor tenant Checkers Hyper, with over 11 000 square meters, will become the largest Checkers Hyper in the Western Cape.
A lease agreement for 25 years with the Shoprite Checkers Group was concluded and the expansion of the existing store is well under way. The group is spending an approximate R15 million on this store and this Checkers Hyper is positioned to be their flagship store in the Western Cape. The initial 10 year lease agreement is worth R40 million.
Fairbridge Mall expects the present foot-traffic figure of 250 000 shoppers per month, to grow to 400 000 once Fairbridge Mall opens. The mall is centrally located within the Brackenfell, Kraaifontein and Kuilsriver region and is easily accessible from the N1 and R300. Access to Fairbridge Mall has been improved with the construction of two new fully signalled access points into the parking area. Another major feature of the centre is that they have undercover drop off zones, along with free parking for over 1 500 vehicles.
"The new mall will focus on convenience. Shoppers today are looking for convenience and value for their money, together with a pleasant shopping experience. The new Fairbridge Mall, has been planned around these key needs of the "time-pressed" consumer," says Ari Efstathiou, Developer of Fairbridge Mall.
