How South Africa’s conservation efforts can thrive with Indian partnership

According to Juicy Lucy general manager Graeme Biesheuvel, the store is not just fresher and brighter but attracts the type of customer who is out to make trendy lifestyle choices that go way beyond the latest health kick. "The trend is towards interesting, wholesome meals at affordable prices. Juicy Lucy is about living a healthy lifestyle on a daily basis."
The menu offers a wide range of items to suit every meal, ranging from breakfasts, sandwiches, sub rolls and salads; to fresh fruit juices, smoothies and a premium brand of freshly ground specialty coffees roasted to perfection and supplied by the Equatorial Coffee Company from its finest coffee plantations.
Juicy Lucy recently launched a new menu, so look out for its new wraps which come with a wide choice of gourmet and classic fillings. The menu also offers Diabetic-friendly options.
"Customers don't want just fresh and tasty food; they also want to know that it has been prepared hygienically. As a result, the new store layouts have been designed to highlight Juicy Lucy's 'nothing to hide' policy," says Biesheuvel.
Menlyn incorporates the successful 'theatre of food' concept that allows customers to see the freshness of the ingredients and the care and hygiene associated with the preparation first hand.
Biesheuvel says Menlyn is already getting rave reviews from satisfied customers. It is likely to lead the way when it comes to taking Juicy Lucy into other major regional malls by providing the recipe for success for a number of new franchises that are already in the pipeline.
Biehseuvel says Juicy Lucy has earmarked a number of key regional malls, starting with Mooi Rivier Mall in Potchefstroom next month and following with Durban's new Westwood Mall in September.
He said Juicy Lucy's new stores were making a healthy mark on eating out in South Africa with its key revamped outlets achieving growth of between 25 and 30%.
Juicy Lucy is also not holding back on leading by example and has supported those making healthy lifestyle choices via its sponsorship of mountain biking in South Africa. This began with the Juicy Lucy Classic mountain bike race at the Mid Illovo Club in KwaZulu-Natal in April.
