Point Learnership Programme launched for post-matric learners
Point, one of this country's leading print and production management specialists, has launched the Point Learnership Programme geared towards post-matric learners.
It is designed to teach learners the intricacies of printing, the print management process and how to best service both clients and printers through a strategic process addressing a number of factors from budget through to effective digital storage of brand assets. The first learners are currently on the programme and are growing in knowledge and experience.

Internationally, print and production management has evolved into a sizeable industry managing the entire print product supply chain from pre-press to production and distribution solutions. In South Africa, it is a growing sector with the potential to deliver both jobs and a new skills set.
According to Gary Davies, CEO of Point, "The programme is fashioned to develop effective proficiencies in the industry and allow the company to play a part in maintaining and building a strong, self-sustaining sector in South Africa. Print and marketing production management is a great business for enthusiastic learners to enter into and the programme is our way of investing back into the sector and developing a skills set for future job creation."
"The programme is giving me greater insight into how effective production management ensures a wide range of benefits for an organisation from improved supplier performance to better management of budgets. It is exciting to gain such a broad understanding of the whole process, from printing to overall management, execution and distribution. I feel like I am not only improving my own career opportunities but also that I will be able to offer a greater contribution to companies I work with in the future," says Martha Selona, one of the new learners.
