Spreading the beef with a new Twitter turf twar

You know you've done something right - or more likely, you've done something wrong - if your brand's being mentioned on Twitter. It's one of the easiest places to vent, slam or compliment. But competitive advertising's something else, and can be a clever way to highlight a competitor product's flaws or features in a way that makes your own shine more brightly in consumers' minds.
One brand 'twar' in particular's been making headlines on Memeburn and Business Day Live lately. They report that it's a fight to see which is the number one spread in South Africa, but of course there's been lots of planning behind the scenes to get the 'twar' going in the right direction.
I'm very excited about the #battleofthespreads idea (I understand the collusion.) This is great for great content. #BeBraverBrands

Why not take this further by getting all spreads involved! Stand up cheese spread! Punt your peanutty-ness, Black Cat! It might just lead to a revolution in the way we think of sandwiches.
I'm not alone in my inclusive thinking either:
Can't Black Cat peanut butter and Yum-Yum peanut butter have a Twar instead. #BattleoftheSpreads
