- Mail & Guardian: Malema warns SABC's Hlaudi against 'protecting Zuma'... During the EFF's protest yesterday at the SABC (the protest was prompted by the national broadcaster's rejection of the party's TV election ad), EFF leader Julius Malema warned the SABC's acting chief operations officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng that if he did not change his ways, and stop protecting Jacob Zuma, the latter would not hesitate to throw him (Motsoeneng) out "like a used condom" once his usefulness had ended, according to the Mail & Guardian report.
The EFF advert
According to Mail & Guardian, "the SABC claims the advert, which includes the slogan 'destroy e-tolls physically', incites violence. The Independent Communications Authority of South African agreed with the SABC's decision when the EFF challenged the decision".
Hence yesterday's protest.
