marcusbrewster drives PR for Flora campaign

In a bid to improve the heart wellness of a whole community, Flora will be educating and supporting the residents of Villiersdorp in the Western Cape to lower their cholesterol and lead a healthier lifestyle in a 21-day cholesterol challenge. The aim is to inspire South Africans to see how simple it is to adopt heart healthy habits.

The company has appointed marcusbrewster to handle media liaison, content generation and publicity duties for the large-scale activation. The challenge includes a three-week educational, nutritional and physical exercise programme, which will support the town's residents.

An open invitation was extended to the Overberg town during January to have cholesterol levels tested. Any resident who displayed an elevated level - between 5.2 and 6.8 mmol/l - could volunteer to take up the challenge. During the registration period over 200 residents, signed up. The cholesterol challenge requires participants to use 25g per day of Flora Pro-activ in addition to a full support programme including dietary and exercise advice. A follow up test is then conducted 21 days later and compared to their previous number.

The results will be announced in Cape Town on Friday 14 February. Follow the challenge on https://twitter.com/floraheartSA or www.facebook.com/florastrongheart.
