It's time to give something to SANTA... and others

‘We've had great feedback from customers and mall tenants alike with the Plight of the Homeless campaign. We have received plenty of clothing and other much-needed household items that will go a long way to alleviate at least some of the many needs existing at the chosen charities, who have welcomed with the greatest thanks our good will,' said Mally Hodgskiss, Somerset Mall exhibitions manager.
So, as the campaign ends only on 31 August, you still have time to donate clothing, blankets and clothes or pledge financially by sending a sms to 33016, with your name and the amount you would like to pledge. By doing this you will help feed and clothe someone who dearly needs it.
And for you corporations out there... you too can help. Naartjie Clothing started it by donating 40 boxes of kiddies gear to the campaign and is challenging all other corporates to open their hearts to the Plight of the Homeless.
Steve Eales, from the clothing company, said he hopes that their donation will make a difference to a number of lives.
“We challenge all businesses to make a donation, preferably in some form that can make an immediate difference to those in need,” he said.
Corporations can meet Naartjie's challenge by following the procedure set out above, but if you need to know more, email Carmen van Wyk at .
