2016 Loeries KZN Creative Future Scholarship recipients revealed

The annual Loeries® Creative Future Scholarships for 2017 were announced at the Loeries® Saturday awards ceremony, held on 20 August 2016 with four scholarships awarded.

The four lucky Grade 12 students are Londeka Gumede and Roxanne Schoon from Durban Girls High, as well as Mali Khuzwayo from Mowat Park High and Samkelisiwe Faku from Inanda Newtown Comprehensive. Gumede, Schoon and Khuzwayo will study further at Vega School of Brand Leadership in Durban while Faku will study at the Design School South Africa, Durban.

Now in its ninth year, the Loeries® Creative Future Scholarship assists learners from disadvantaged backgrounds by seeking them out while still at school to study brand communication at a tertiary level, and build awareness of the career opportunities available in the creative services sector.

Andrew Human, CEO of the Loeries® calls the Scholarship a way of investing in the young minds who hold our future in their hands.

It does so by covering their tuition fees, as well as allowances for study materials and textbooks, a computer, living expenses, a transport subsidy, mentorship, internships and assistance with employment after graduation.
