“I loved the Lucky Packet, we covered enormous ground with the show, drawing from the amazingly diverse well of talent this country has to offer,” Constant said. “Art, culture and music are my absolute passion and I am looking forward to pursuing new projects relating to these. I have recently been involved in a number of projects within the media and marketing industries which I have thoroughly enjoyed and hope to spend more time in this area.”

Constant paid tribute to her producer, Monique Stander, for her role in turning the Lucky Packet into the content-rich, musically diverse and stimulating three-hour radio outing that it became after its inception in August 2006

“I must also thank the listeners who really played a big role in making the show as dynamic as it is. I've always been amazed at the fact that we drew such a diverse audience in terms of age and cultural background and will be sad not to engage with them through the show after the end of March.”

Constant will continue to have a presence on radio through the long-running BASA sponsored news feature ‘Create' on SAFM Midday Live.

“Create is an amazing feature which gives credibility to the arts within the framework of news, thanks to SAFM's enormous support, as well as BASA's belief, in the importance of the arts.

“I love radio and its ability to tell great audio stories and hope to find ways of continuing with this.”

“I also look forward to continuing telling the stories that need to be told with the cultural terrain of South Africa through my writing in GQ, Wanted and Empire magazines, as well as through other projects that are in the pipeline.”

Constant has worked in the TV, radio and print media industry for over a decade and has been a South African Music Awards judge for the past 10 years. Her career so far has afforded her the opportunity to interview a broad spread of musicians, writers, artists, sports people and politicians.

“I may be finishing the Lucky Packet at the end of March but I am looking forward to the various prospects that have come my way. I will certainly continue to showcase our country's wonderful heritage,” Constant said.

The final broadcast of the Lucky Packet on Radio 2000 takes place on Friday 28 March.
