FNB expands cellphone bank service to Swazi‚ Lesotho

FNB has launched cross border payments to Swaziland and Lesotho using a cellphone‚ as SA's third largest bank by customer numbers expands its Pay2Cell service that was launched in September last year.

The service enables cellphone banking customers to make payments directly to another FNB account using the recipient's cellphone number.

"With the launch of Pay2Cell cross border payments‚ the service will benefit South African FNB customers as well as customers in Swaziland and in Lesotho. In SA‚ Pay2Cell has seen in excess of 400% growth of transaction values since inception‚" said Ravesh Ramlakan‚ the CEO of FNB Cellphone Banking.
