Nokia Siemens to cut 17 000 jobs
Business Live reports that Nokia Siemens Networks will fire 17 000 workers as part of a plan to save at least €1-billion a year but the company has not yet said where these cuts would be made. Nokia Siemens has been consistently losing money since 2007.
According to Business Live, the job cuts are part of the company's plan to move away from fixed-line infrastructure development and focus purely on mobile networks. The company currently now employs 74 000 people around the world having already cut its workforce by 10 000 and closed various plants in different countries.
