R1,2-billion for new nursing colleges

IOL News reports that the National Health Department is planning to spend R1,2-billion on revamping nursing colleges between now and 2014 in preparation for the National Healthcare Insurance plan (NHI).

Limpopo and the Eastern Cape would get the lion's share of the money with about R340-million allocated to each, while KwaZulu-Natal will get the next highest amount of R167-million, according to the IOL News report.
