Ramokgopa to address cardiology congress
The congress strikes a good balance between highlighting sophisticated technological advances and focusing on mechanisms to prevent heart diseases among poor people and in rural areas as well as maintaining health systems that provide a platform for good health care.
Ramokgopa, in her opening address, will highlight interventions being carried out by South Africa.
The conference will be attended by medical professionals from all over the world.
The Congress is held every four years and is a major international scientific event for the paediatric cardio-community. It provides an opportunity to highlight and review four years of research and technological developments in basic sciences, clinical research and therapeutic interventions.
Others who will present at the congress is Children's HeartLink, a non-profit organization partnering with health care centres in underserved regions of the world to promote sustainable care for children with heart disease.
The Congress will take place at the Cape Town Convention Centre from today until Friday, 22 February 2013.
