Cool As Folk is a kinetic, rhythmic event aiming to showcase a range of music from up-and-coming African artists, headlined by Jeremy Loops and Co. The event will bring together a diverse mix of individuals who not only appreciate great music, but also have either caught the Greenpop tree bug or are willing to expose themselves to it.
This event specifically aims to raise funds for Greenpop's Trees for Zambia Eco-education and Reforestation Conference of Action event, which is happening from 7 to 28 July this year in Livingstone, Zambia. During this time, about 100 international people and 100 Zambians come together to plant 5000 trees, spread environmental education, make solar cookers, contribute to greening Livingstone and have a lot of fun too.
Greenpop aims to attract potential tree-planting supporters who could financially contribute to the project by donating trees (either by adding a tree to their Cool As Folk ticket or by gifting a tree at the event) and/or would be interested in attending the Action Event to plant trees. www.greenpop.org/projects/trees-for-zambia
The music event will take place at STM Live from 7pm to 2am. Look forward to an awesome line-up of bands and DJs, two dance floors, a photo booth and roaming photographers from Fuji, and a twitter fountain that will be used to promote the event. STM Live is at Pineslopes Shopping Centre, opposite Billy the Bums, corner of Witkoppen and Straight in Fourways, Johannesburg.
Tickets are R50 per person if bought in advance or R150 if you'd like to add a tree to your ticket (Greenpop will plant it on your behalf in Zambia), and can be purchased via or Quicket www.quicket.co.za/events/2055-cool-as-folk-jozi NuTickets. Guests can also purchase tickets at the door for R80 (or R180 with a tree included).
