Sing 'it song-writing competition winners announced

The competition was a collaboration between lead sponsor Sanlam, organisers LitNet and MK (DStv channel 324), and nine of the country's top singers and bands. South Africans entered their lyrics for selection, composition and possible recording by the artists, and now the bands have chosen their winning songs from more than 1600 entries.

Each winner receives R3000 in cash and an iPad 2, and the honour of having his song recorded by the artist/band who selected it.

All nine songs will be available for free download until 12 March on the Sing 'it website (www.singit.co.za ). The song that is downloaded the most will receive a music budget from MK, and the lyricist will have the opportunity to feature in the video.
