Martinengo to co-host with Jeremy Clarkson

Motoring guru Jeremy Clarkson isn't going to have it all his own way at this year's MPH '07: local celebrity and motoring enthusiast Sasha Martinengo, as well as Top Gear host Richard Hammond, are joining the show team.

Martinengo will be bringing his brand of razor-sharp knowledge and understanding for motor sport and expert commentary to the live motoring theatre, ensuring that this year's line-up of presenters is as spectacular as the machinery in action.

"Having ancestoral racing genes in my blood, I am truly overwhelmed to be chosen to act as the local host for MPH '07. Ever since I can remember, social activities and conversations were about racing and now to be involved in MPH '07 and to co-host with Jeremy is an absolute honour," says Martinengo.

With a strong national and international background in broadcasting and presenting general motor sport and Formula One, Martinengo has interviewed motoring legends Nigel Mansell, Eddie Jordan, Jarno Trulli, Jean Alesi, Giancarlo Fisicella and more.

Hammond became a presenter on Top Gear in 2002, when the show began its present format. He is sometimes referred to as "Hamster" by fans and his co-presenters on the show.

After a number of years on the show, one can be assured that Hammond knows how to handle Clarkson He also credits his love of cars as a reason to his being a great host, "I own a left-hand drive Porsche 911, two Land Rovers, a Suzuki GSXR1000, a BMW 1150 GS, a second Porsche 911, a Porsche 928, a Morgan V6 Roadster, a 1967 Ford Mustang and several kit cars - of course I can handle MPH '07."

Clarkson and Hammond have a reported following of over 350-million viewers.
