Peering in your crystal awards ball
People magazine is hosting its 5th annual Crystal Awards to celebrate homebred talent, with readers of the Caxton Magazines title voting to decide on the celebrity nominees in each category as well as who walks away with a Crystal Award.
Winners will be announced on 10 June 2005 at a banquet evening hosted by 5FM on-air presenter Zuraida Jardine and featuring South African live acts including Jamali, Heinz Winckler and Danny K at the Theatre on The Track in Kyalami.
Debbie McIntyre, assistant general manager for Caxton Magazines, says: "There are multitudes of talented young stars who should be acknowledged for their contribution to the local arts. People's Crystal Awards is Caxton Magazine's way of showing appreciation to the industry, and inviting readers to vote forges a stronger relationship between consumer and brand."
The categories for the Crystal Awards are: Best Soap Actor; Best Soap Actress; Best Sports Presenter; Hottest SA Artist/Band; Best Radio Personality; Best Kids Presenter; Best Dressed Male Presenter; Best Dressed Female Presenter; Best Male Newcomer - Music/Stage/Screen; Best Female Newcomer - Music/Stage/Screen; Best Male TV Presenter; Best Female TV Presenter; SA's Hottest Hunk; SA's Hottest Babe; Best Local Series; Best Ensemble Cast in a Soap/Series; and Best TV Talk Show Host.
