Happy Tails magazine wagging welfare work

Rescue Rock has launched its print and digital magazine, Happy Tails, which focuses on positive, uplifting and inspiring stories in the South African animal welfare world.

Its mission is to help change the world of the many homeless animals in our country and offer support to the animal welfare workers who work tirelessly to rescue them. The bi-monthly magazine promotes adoption and strongly advocates responsible pet ownership, with a major emphasis on sterilisation. It also contains useful advice articles and information, which any animal lover can enjoy.

A comic strip created exclusively for the magazine will appeal to younger readers, as will the 'info bites' found throughout the magazine and in the centre poster. It also features expert advice on animal behaviour and health, and readers' personal stories and photographs.

It is available as a digital version through MySubs at www.mysubs.co.za and in hard copy exclusively through A Pet's Life Online Shop at www.apetslife.co.za. It has an initial limited edition print circulation of 2,500, with distribution to business receptions and waiting areas in professional practices throughout the country (through O&J Media).

The magazine will be marketed extensively on social media platforms by shelters and animal welfare organisations and on its Facebook page, which is growing daily. It will also be marketed via the extensive nationwide animal email network. Preliminary feedback from the public has also been very positive, with people excited to read the first issue.

It supports animal welfare organisations by featuring products sold to raise funds, wish lists, and an all-important animal welfare directory in every issue. For more information, go to www.happytailsmagazine.co.za or follow on Facebook.
