Stellenbosch Wine Festival offers Hartenberg Shiraz vertical tasting

Alternatively, Hartenberg invites wine festivalgoers to an authentic winelands picnic experience in the estate's picturesque garden. Picnic baskets will be filled with local culinary delights from its kitchen-baked farm bread, perfect with Eleanor's famous snoek pate, to a rich combination of terrines. Rosemary focaccia, delivered daily by a local family owned bakery and delicious salads dressed in a neighbour's olive oil will add to the selection of delicious picnic treats.

The picnics at R145 per adult include a carafe of Hartenberg wine and are served seven days a week between noon and 2pm. Children's picnic basket available at R45.

JC Le Roux sweet delights

Visit the newly renovated House of JC Le Roux for a taste of Le Good Life during the Stellenbosch Wine Festival from Saturday 26 January to Sunday 3 February, with special tasting experiences on offer from 10am to 2pm daily.

The Sinfully Delicious tasting experience pairs its Brut Cap Classique with a koeksister, a true South African classic and sweet lamingtons will be paired with the sparkling Sauvignon Blanc. A treat of strawberry marshmallows dipped in milk chocolate will be the perfect partner for La Vallée Rosé, a must try for bubbly lovers with a dry or a slightly sweeter palate and the romantic La Chanson will be served with a chocolate brownie.
