Reminder to support Fairtrade week

Today marks the opening of the first Fairtrade Week in South Africa, with the theme 'Taste the Change'. This national campaign is aimed at increasing consumer awareness around Fairtrade and the significance it plays in improving lives in farming communities and in offering consumers the possibility of an ethical choice.

On Tuesday 15 November at 3pm, the organisation, together with Kraft Foods South Africa is officially launching the first all-African Fairtrade chocolate at the Pick n Pay flagship store on William Nicol in Johannesburg.

On Wednesday 16 November, there will be a radio broadcast at 11am on 2oceansvibe radio, another at noon on Clarence Ford's show on Heart 104.9 and at 1.30pm on the Nancy Richards' Women Show on SAFM

On Friday 18 November, supporters can go to the Wellness Warehouse on Kloof Street, Cape Town and get a taste of Palesa Fairtrade Wines. Fairtrade Wine tastings will continue in the Pick n Pays in Constantia, Claremont, Gardens, Long Beach and Sea Point Cape Town at 2pm of the range of Six Hats Fairtrade Wines. At 3.30pm, there will be a Fairtrade Week Closure Cocktail at the newly opened Bean There Coffee Roastery on 58 Wale Street, Cape Town.

On Saturday 19 November, more tastings of Six Hats Fairtrade wines at Pick n Pays in Constantia, Claremont, Gardens, Long Beach and Sea Point, Cape Town at 11am and at noon, more tastings of Palesa Fairtrade wines at Wellness Warehouse.
