IOL revamps, bitten by technical bug
Independent Online (IOL), the aggregated news site for content from the Independent Newspapers stable and a wholly owned subsidiary of Independent News & Media, underwent a revamp over the past weekend. However, it has been bitten by a technical bug today, Monday, 6 September 2010 and, has been down since this morning after having been down for most of the day, has had to revert back to the old site.

According to an online statement from editor Rhys Johnstone:
"IOL relaunched on Sunday with a completely revamped design running on new hardware.
"However, ongoing problems with the new website servers have forced us to revert to the old website. We apologise to all our readers for the inconvenience.
"We would like to ensure you that we have our technology partners working non-stop on the problem and will let you know as soon as we have a resolution in sight."
For more, follow IOL on Twitter at @IOL and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/IOLnews. The site itself normally exists at www.iol.co.za.
