A new Record for old

Effective 16 May 2008, Caxton's community newspaper Record Shoshanguve will be discontinued and replaced by the community newspaper Record Noweto. Sales and marketing for the paper will continue to be handled by the Newspaper Advertising Bureau (NAB).

"The decision was taken to discontinue Record Shoshanguve because of its limited footprint," says NAB's Joint MD Gill Randall. "Record Noweto offers broader coverage to readers and advertisers, whilst still staying true to the communities it represents. We have found the areas which the paper reaches are extremely viable for advertisers wanting to communicate with these residents but weren't able to do so effectively in the past."

Distributed every Friday and published in English, a total print order of 29 000 copies of the paper will make its way to formal housing in Shoshanguve (15 000), Mabopane (10 150) and Ga-rankuwa (3 850).
