Royco launches new Recipe Bases

Royco has launched a new range of wet Recipe Bases that give consumers the confidence to expand their cooking repertoire with six authentic South African family favourite recipes offering all the benefits of a wet cooking aid while still involving them in the kitchen.

Recipe Bases are a blend of flavoursome herbs and spices with fresh ingredients and are free of added MSG or preservatives. They come in a value-for-money, family-size pouch in six recipes: Bolognaise, Chicken a la King, Butter Chicken, Breyani, Beef Casserole, and Chicken Casserole.

Committed to expanding the cooking aids category in South Africa, Royco has created a bridge between consumers using dry cooking aids and those who prefer the more premium cook-in-sauces by offering affordability, convenience, accessibility and above all, authentic taste.

Driving category growth

"Mars Incorporated has successfully launched Recipe Bases in Australia and saw the range transform the Cooking Aids category by driving category growth," said Jann Lurie, Brand Manager of Mars Foods, who developed the range based on extensive research to identify the meals enjoyed most by South African families.

Available in 200g stand-up pouches for a family meal for four, New Royco Recipe Bases will save consumers hours in the kitchen by taking care of the tricky, time-consuming part of cooking, but still allowing them to be involved in making the end meal. A 'Simply Add' recipe tag on each pouch makes these generous family meals easy to prepare with basic staples from the refrigerator or pantry.
