Game launches fresh food at Gateway

Game Gateway launched its 'Fresh for Less' range this week, the first store in KwaZulu-Natal to get a taste of its fresh food offering that has converted numerous shoppers in the Western Cape and Gauteng since its first appearance in the Western Cape in November 2010. The newly refurbished store will include wider aisles and clearer signage.

According to Game CEO, Robin Wright, 2014 will be a year dedicated to the rollout of food in Game stores across KwaZulu-Natal. "We're excited about this being the flagship store. The fresh food range fits in with the existing brand identity. There are definite synergies and it is in tune with both Massmart and Game's promise to deliver unbeatable value to consumers."

The store will provide pre-packed meat, freshly baked goods and fresh vegetables. It will have mince pies, Christmas cake, fruit pudding and turkey in product ranges that will suit every customer's budget.

The chain reviews its product pricing weekly and its research shows that customers will save up to 5% on their usual basket spend when shopping regularly at its stores. "Offering food to our customers was a natural progression for us. We want to offer our customers a complete one stop shop where they can get the lowest possible prices across a full basket."

"It is going to be an exciting year for us. Our customers have enjoyed our fresh food range since its launch and we expect to have the same reaction with our KwaZulu-Natal customers. All of our products are locally sourced, so expect quality at the very best prices."

Tomorrow, 16 November, all the excitement will be taking place at the centre court just outside of the store, with live East Coast radio streaming by radio DJ Peter G and food tastings.
