New editor-in-chief for e.tv
Managing editor of e.news and 3rd Degree executive producer Debora Patta has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of e.tv news with immediate effect. CEO Marcel Golding says: "e.tv is proud to announce the appointment of the first woman editor-in-chief in South African television. Debora Patta has an outstanding record in journalism and she is a valuable asset to e.tv's management team."
Patta joined e.tv as senior correspondent when the channel was launched in October 1998. Prior to this, she worked at Johannesburg-based Radio 702 for eight years, starting as reporter and working her way up to News Editor and Special Assignments Editor.
e.tv Channel Director Bronwyn Keene-Young says: "Debora's contribution to the strategic positioning of e.tv news and current affairs programming has been immense. We have every confidence that, under Debora's leadership, e.news will continue to grow as South Africa's premier television news service."
Patta says: "I can't think of a more exciting place to work right now than e.news. I look forward to growing what is already an exceptional product and am fortunate to be able to meet this challenge together with the finest news team in South Africa."
