Media focus on Budget 2009
CNBC Africa, in association with Deloitte, has set aside the whole of Wednesday to bring viewers the best analysis and insight for this year's budget speech, with top-level guests such as Pravin Gordhan from SARS, tax expert Billy Joubert from Deloitte, economists Iraj Abedian and Lumkile Mondi, Dr Neva Seidman Mkagetla of the Presidency and Sasfin's David Shapiro, to mention just a few.
“New to CNBC Africa's offering this year is video-streaming of the day's highlights on our website,” says CNBC Africa head of programming Jill de Villiers.
The day's packed programming began at 6am with expert interviews, panel discussions and live crossings to Cape Town throughout the day. CNBC Africa anchor Byron Kennedy will be at Parliament and ready to pose the most pertinent questions to Minister Manuel at 4pm. The afternoon and evening will bring an array of pre- and post-budget discussions with some of the country's most seasoned economic minds.
With budget-related interviews in its morning shows, coverage will get into full swing at 1pm with a pre-budget panel setting the scene for what is expected from Manuel this year. After the budget speech, the team will bring you specialised post-budget analysis. Leading the debates are top anchors Bronwyn Nielsen, Alishia Seckam and Lerato Mbele.
