Julio Garcia reaches beyond the Highveld

94.7 Highveld Stereo's Julio Garcia has just signed up to David Chislett Publicity. The weekend evening DJ and Johannesburg stalwart of South African music signed to the growing new publicity agency last week.

Julio Garcia is one of a crop of exciting young talent at 94.7 and is fast becoming one of Johannesburg's hottest new faces. As a radio DJ, event MC and guest night club DJ, Julio is already expanding his sphere of influence and reaching out to a broader audience than his already significant one on radio.

"Highveld is the biggest radio station in Johannesburg," remarked Garcia, "And I want to make sure that I live up to that reputation. In order to do that I need to work hard to grow my own profile and get involved off-air as much as I am on. Signing David Chislett Publicity is an intrinsic part of that process."

Garcia, who is of first generation Spanish descent, is looking forward to a busy year of public appearances, club gigs and opportunities to support his favourite charity, CANSA. The good-looking radio presenter has been on Highveld for three years now and joined the station after paying his dues in retail and community radio in Gauteng. His Sunday show is the residence of Home Brew, a specialist show focusing solely on South African music talent which is immensely popular with the youth market and the music industry.

Catch Julio on 94.7 Highveld Stereo on Saturdays and Sundays from 18:00 to 22:00. Homebrew is broadcast between 19:00 and 20:00 during Julio's Sunday slot on 94.7.
