Job purpose:
To provide strategic direction the ombudsman function in the City, assuming responsibility for both classical/statutory (external) and organisational (internal) ombudsman duties to accomplish the immediate, short- and long-term service delivery objectives in terms of relevant legislation and the City’s Integrated Development Plan and Departmental strategic objectives.
Requirements:
An appropriate degree (or equivalent), preferably a Finance, Business Process, Legal, Management or an IT qualification
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in investigations at management level
Professional membership with the International Ombudsman Institute
High level of professional character and business insight
Retain impartiality at all times
South African citizenship.
Key performance areas:
Ensure that multi disciplinary Ombudsman investigations as well as advocacy programmes are achieved, to enable efficient and effective execution of the City’s strategy
Drive Ombudsman efficiencies and display leadership and ethical culture when managing relationships and stakeholders
Proactively drive and lead the investigations in a manner that mitigates and manages the City’s reputational risks and ensures that the City complies with ethical, legal and policy standards and directives
Financial management
