Key purpose

The ability to interrogate the brief and strategy to produce world-class ideas, craft in writing, and results on more digitally focused platforms. This includes social campaigns, an understanding of digital UX/UI-based environments, as well as an understanding of these platforms.

Creative

• Assist the creative directors in building the creative reputation of Hunt Lascaris.
• Take accountability for ensuring all creative output consistently meets the highest quality standards.
• Assist in the presentation of creative work internally and externally in a clear, professional, and impactful manner.
• Produce and craft original and great concepts and designs proactively and in response to creative briefs from existing or potential clients.
• Work with strategy and account management to understand the clients’ brand and manage projects to support the delivery of iconic work for the brand.
• Actively encourage and facilitate collaboration within the creative department and other departments within Hunt Lascaris.
• Stay aware of current trends, popular culture, ideas, and work to stay ahead of the curve and remain relevant and contemporary.
• Consistently develop and refine their craft in a way that demonstrates a real passion for the work they do.
• Contribute to the shop window (local and international awards).

Business management

• Accurately record work time.
• Actively participate in new business pitches and business development when required.
• Spread positive sentiment and avoid contributing to any negative sentiments that could harm Hunt Lascaris’ reputation both internally and externally.

People/collaboration

• Develop skills and knowledge within yourself that anticipate and reflect the changing needs of Hunt Lascaris and its clients through on-the-job development, active participation in the creative department (e.g., disruption, training, and other company initiatives).
• Provide feedback to your creative director regarding improvements that could be made to the creative department and Hunt Lascaris, and play a key role in digital innovation.
• Actively support and involve team members at the appropriate time to resolve issues.
• Encourage all members to look for collaborative ways to make Hunt Lascaris a great place to work.

Knowledge and experience required

• Five years plus as a copywriter in a leading digital agency/company that has generated or can generate and produce world-class ideas and copy for Hunt Lascaris and their clients or potential clients.
• Efficient and versed in writing styles, with an understanding of writing requirements for various digital and traditional media platforms.
• Must have the ability to write economically where necessary but be able to explain with extreme detail when needed.
• Conceptual skills within the digital environment are a key requirement. Must know what conceptually drives engagement and interest in the various digital platforms.

Skills and educational requirements

• Collaborative, especially with a diverse set of creatives.
• Self-motivation, drive, and accountability are key requirements.
• World-class copywriting ability.
• Versatility in writing in English, and/or any of the main vernacular languages.
• Technical writing proficiency.
• Presentation skills.
• Strategically minded.
• Diverse writing style (profound, comedy, epic, poetic).
• Technical understanding of film and content production, edits, sound, music, voice, and direction.
• Culturally aware.
