Technical Data Architect

Location: Remote, Johannesburg
Salary: R1.8 million – R2 million CTC (negotiable based on experience)

Our client, dedicated to building applications that ingest customer data from multiple sources, and aggregate, manipulate, and transform it to meet customers' analytical needs, is seeking a technical data architect. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional passionate about designing and implementing robust data architectures that drive business success.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of data-driven solutions, including technology stack decisions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and customers to understand specific analytical needs.
• Oversee all aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including CI/CD, automated testing, and compliance standards.
• Recruit and lead a team of skilled developers to execute the company's data strategy.
• Write testable code, including unit and integration tests, and collaborate with dedicated testing teams.

Qualifications and experience

• At least ten years of experience, including designing and developing a data platform in a recent role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technology challenges.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software within an agile team environment.
• Experience in building or working on a data platform in a SaaS environment.

Technical expertise

• Proficiency in Python, C#/.NET for data pipeline and API development.
• Experience with RESTful services, microservices architectures, and advanced database design and optimisation (PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with writing testable code, including unit and integration tests, and collaborating with dedicated testing teams.
• Experience with dashboard and report development using Power BI, Superset, or SSRS.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
