    Job Summary
    The media/implementation planner is responsible for the implementation of a client media strategy. Working with the account strategists and buyers, the role in pivotal in translating strategy to plan and to activation.

    Key Areas of Responsibility and accountability
    Implement media plans based on planning processes, policies and procedures as part of the media planning team:
    • To produce implementation plans, based on agreed strategy or parameters set out in the brief. (The best mix within a medium for the task at hand).
    • Checking and ensuring media planning is always reflective of the media strategy – keeping the strategist and account lead informed of changes due to non-availability of time or space
    • Monitor changes that occur on booked time and space to ensure flow plans are updated and revised.
    • To continuously improve on existing commitment discounts/positioning
    • Collaborate with the buyer to ensure that any budget fluctuations are identified, and necessary action taken.
    • Work with the buying team to ensure zero error implementation.
    • Weekly TV tracking and recommendation on changes
    • Manage and generate TV post campaign reports, including learning’s.
    • Assist in the preparation of central strategic work, e.g., availabilities, rates, sponsorship opportunities.
    • Ensure the media budget is efficiently and effectively optimised, ensuring timely delivery of campaigns against campaign objectives, budget and KPI’s.
    • Keep abreast of competitor activity/new market communication.
    Client account and stakeholder management skills
    • Attend client and internal status meetings; provide input to client brand reviews
    • Act as the client point of contact in relation to implementation planning. This will include responding to client queries and proactive client management
    • Keep up to date with media changes and alert the team of potential advantages/new opportunities for presentation to Client
    • Relationship building and negotiation for leveraging costs, discounts and added value incentives with media vendors
    • Maintain sound relationships and communications with clients, colleagues, creative/brand agencies and media vendors
    • Operating and technical skills
    • Minimum five years’ experience in a media planning role
    • Be proficient in the use of media planning/measurement tools: Telmar Suite, WizzAd Plus, Media Manager etc.
    • Ability to solve problems/be solutions driven
    • Adept at using MS Suite – Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
    • Education and experience:
    • Three-year diploma or degree in marketing, communications, advertising/media management or equivalent
    • At least five years’ TTL experience within a media advertising agency or media owner
    • Understanding of community media.
    • Experience in Government clients is advantageous.
