Motor Vehicle Technician

A workshop in Centurion is urgently hiring a motor vehicle technician.

Key responsibilities

• Vehicle diagnostics: Utilise advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles.
• Repairs and maintenance: Perform repairs and routine maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components.
• Customer interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to explain vehicle issues, proposed repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
• Safety inspections: Conduct thorough inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on each task.

• Education: Matric certificate.
• Certification: Trade test certificate in motor mechanics (petrol or diesel). A master technician qualification is advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of three years post-qualification experience, preferably with high-volume brands such as Ford, Hyundai, or Mazda.
• Licensing: Valid driver’s licence.
• Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
• Clear criminal record.
• Willingness to stay updated with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
