Beauty Editor

Conde Nast has an opportunity for a Beauty Editor for Glamour Magazine who will be responsible for the process of creating, developing, and presenting beauty content. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of shaping the beauty content strategy for one of the industry's leading fashion and lifestyle publications. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Conceptualising, researching, and writing compelling beauty features, articles, and product reviews for print and digital platforms
• Collaborate with the editorial team to develop and execute the beauty editorial calendar
• Pitching and developing original story ideas that resonate with Glamour’s audience while aligning with editorial goals
• Cultivating relationships with beauty brands and PR agencies to secure product samples for review and potential partnerships
• Work closely with the sales teams to integrate sponsored content seamlessly into the editorial 
• Analysing audience engagement metrics and trends to optimise content performance
• Monitoring social media channels and responding to reader feedback, fostering a strong community around Glamour’s beauty content
• Ensuring Glamour’s beauty first positioning and fulfilling all relevant content pillars, working with and reporting to the Glamour 
• Writing - beauty news, report features, reviews and interviews
• Brands - coordinating with the beauty team, liaising with brands on launches and attending events 
• Responsible for spearheading all beauty-related events and awards, as well as the beauty vertical-related events strategy

Who you are: 

• Extensive experience in beauty editorial and working within a digital team
• Strong relationships with beauty brands across the industry, from heritage to social first brands 
• Close relationships with beauty experts in all areas, from session stylists and makeup artists to cosmetic doctors and industry bodies
• A passion for good journalism, writing, and editing stand-out digital content and securing unique, timely, and exclusive content
• Proven experience in thinking about how a story will translate across social and the web with storytelling imagery 

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or a related field
• Proven experience (four years) as a beauty editor or similar role in a reputable publication

Work-related experience: 

Minimum: 

• Strong understanding of SEO, digital and print content best practices
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
• Creative thinker with a passion for beauty trends, products, and innovation
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms
• Shoot experience is preferred but not essential
