Mercia Grimbeek, chair of SAWEA, is an expert in the energy sector. Grimbeek, who has served on the board of governance since 2018, has been part of South Africa's renewable energy sector since its inception, 11 years ago.
As chair, she leads the men and women who hold positions on the SAWEA board, all of whom are charged with steering the wind energy sector and advocating for a clean and affordable energy mix, of which wind energy is a dominant part.
Her vision is to see wind power as an emancipator of transformation and growth in South Africa.
